About CxO Coaching

Our Story

CxO Coaching, established in 2015, grew from its Founder & CEO, Michel Koopman’s conviction that accomplished leaders deserve guidance grounded in real operating experience—not abstract theory.

A Dutch-American executive with a global perspective, Michel spent more than 15 years leading within enterprise technology companies, traveling the world and working alongside prominent CEOs and leadership teams in high-pressure sales and business development environments. He later became CEO of getAbstract’s U.S. business, transforming a small subscription-based content company into a rapidly growing enterprise serving 54 of the Fortune 100 and one in five Fortune 500 companies. Working closely with CHROs and talent leaders gave him a firsthand understanding of what exceptional organizations expect from their people—and what executives must do to build cultures, teams, and businesses capable of sustained performance.

After exiting getAbstract, Michel became a trusted advisor to founders and CEOs across industries, particularly within small and mid-sized businesses first, helping them accelerate growth, strengthen leadership, create enterprise value, and, in many cases, prepare for highly successful exits. Through that work, he recognized a clear gap in the executive coaching market: too much theory and too little practical understanding of what it actually means to lead, make difficult decisions, and deliver results, both in SMB and enterprise. CxO Coaching was created to close that gap—bringing together accomplished operators who coach other operators with the candor, judgment, and real-world perspective that senior leaders need most, balancing both the interest of the individuals and the companies they serve.

CxO occupies the space between independent executive coaches, large-scale coaching platforms, standardized leadership development programs, and traditional executive advisory firms.

Unlike independent coaches, CxO offers the breadth, infrastructure, and consistency of an business or enterprise partner. Unlike mass coaching platforms, the experience is highly curated, personal, and built around senior operators with firsthand executive experience. Unlike standardized leadership programs, CxO adapts its methodology to the individual leader, business context, and challenge. And unlike traditional coaching firms, CxO develops the leader using a blend of functional coaching, business advisory and leadership development.

This makes CxO unique: the personalization and trust of an exceptional executive coach, the practical perspective of an experienced operator, and the rigor and infrastructure of an enterprise coaching partner.

Our Thesis

We believe anything is possible when we approach the world with abundance, act with the power to make things better, stay curious about what could be, lead with goodwill toward others, and remain authentic in how we show up.

Our values

01

Abundance

Anything is possible.

CxO approaches leadership from possibility rather than limitation. There is always another solution, another perspective, and another level of performance.

02

Power

Leadership creates impact.

Leaders have the ability to shape companies, teams, careers, and outcomes. CxO helps leaders understand and use that responsibility well.

03

Curiosity

Ask before assuming.

Experience matters, but experience does not mean having every answer. CxO listens, questions, challenges, and seeks to understand context before prescribing a solution.

04

Goodwill

Success should create success around you.

Great leadership strengthens teams, organizations, relationships, and the people affected by the business.

05

Authenticity

Be real.

CxO’s credibility comes from genuine experience and genuine relationships. No posturing. No corporate theater. No pretending leadership is simpler than it is.
